Program overview:
For infants and toddlers, the program focuses on four areas: self-esteem and personal awareness; communication skills; social skills; and physical development. Singing, playing musical instruments, playing movement games, and hearing stories are some of the group activities we engage daily. Because toddlers' attention spans are short and rapidly shifting, the program is highly flexible.
For the three and early four year-olds social development come into focus. Then the emphasis is place on cooperative play, group interaction and conflict resolution. In this context, communication skills and refined motor skills become a primary focus.
Four and five year-olds, some children are ready to read or write during this year others are not. For that reason we spend more time writing, reading, viewing and copying for children and conceptualize written/oral language. During these years we play with blocks and manipulative toys, also we encourage artistic expression, dramatic play, reading, quiet play and group activities. Opportunities exist for children be involved in group activities or to play alone. |
